Immigrant Employment Council of BC

Connecting Employers to Immigrant Talent

The Immigrant Employment Council of British Columbia (IEC-BC) is a provincial non-government organization that stimulates the integration of skilled immigrant talent into the province’s workforce by fostering solutions, building connections and being a champion to help employers attract and retain skilled immigrant talent.

Since 2008, The Immigrant Employment Council of BC (IEC-BC) has been working to build awareness about the strategic benefits of integrating immigrants into BC’s labour market by:

Championing solutions for employers
British Columbia requires a highly skilled workforce to meet the labour force needs expected in the coming years.  IEC-BC champions innovative solutions for BC employers to attract, hire and retain immigrant talent to meet their labour demands.

Creating and providing resources for BC employers
Employer-focused resources and programs offered through IEC-BC help businesses of all sizes and sectors and from all regions of the province integrate skilled immigrants into BC’s workforce.

Building connections to skilled immigrant talent
As a champion and leader in labour market integration of immigrant talent, we regularly consult with employers giving them a stronger voice in the development of immigrant employment policies, programs and services.

Creating synergies and solutions
Through partnerships with employers, industry and business associations and federal and provincial government, employers benefit from enhanced coordination of IEC-BC’s collaborative immigrant employment solutions with other provincial workforce strategies.

IEC-BC is led by a Board of Directors comprised of key business and community leaders including employers, representatives of business associations, government, education, labour and not-for-profit organizations.
